Firenze Number Nine is also just a 5 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella train station making it so easy for access to/from Rome, Venice, Naples or Bologna.

The Firenze Number Nine Fitness Spa Hotel is the heart and soul of the San Lorenzo neighborhood, which takes its name from the wonderful nearby Basilica, one of Christianity’s great monuments. This masterpiece from Brunelleschi hosts extraordinary art works from Donatello, Filippo Lippi, Rosso Fiorentino. In the apse is Michelangelo’s Medici Chapel. It is also the location of Michelangelo’s “secret chamber” which will open to the public in 2020. The ancient market place around the church is now a temple for shoppers and food lovers alike, with a wide range of traditional handcrafted goods and clothing and restaurants to meet every taste and budget.

The world famous Duomo and the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiori is only a 2 minute walk from Number Nine. The first stone of the cathedral was laid on 8th September 1296 by Arnolfo di Cambio and upon its completion in 15th Century it was the largest church in Europe. Today it is the third largest church in the world. The Dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi looms over the Hotel and is visible from some of our rooms. On a clear day you can see for miles – the Tuscan hills and countryside surrounding the city.

Ponte Vecchio

No visit to Florence is complete without seeing the Ponte Vecchio. You can arrive there by foot in just 5 minutes. A great photo opportunity or a chance for some shopping along the way. Sunset at the Ponte Vecchio is also a special treat – we’re so close so there’s no excuse not to experience this Florentine masterpiece.

Shopping in via de' Tornabuoni

Florence is also famous for its style and its fashion. In 5 minutes you will find yourself in the chic shopping street of Via de’ Tornabuoni. Famous brand adorn both sides of the street – Gucci, Pucci, Prada, Ferragamo to name just a few. Your shopping bags can be delivered directly to your room from these designer stores so you can certainly “shop until you drop”.
